Known for their roles on TLC's Little People, Big World, the couple told People in a statement:
"Though we have weathered many storms together, we recently made the tough decision to engage in a trial separation.
"Matt remains living on the farm in our guest house and we work together everyday on the farm, on our business endeavors and most importantly, raising our amazing children."
The Roloffs and their four kids – twins Jeremy and Zack, 23, Molly, 20, and Jacob, 17 – star in the aforementioned reality program, which tracs the daily lives of the six-member family, three of whom have been diagnosed with dwarfism.
They will appear in a new special that airs March 25 at 9 p.m. EST.
"We sincerely appreciate the unwavering support, understanding and prayers from our family, friends and many fans. May God bless you," Matt and Amy concluded.
